Artists That Hit #1 With Their Debut Single (1968-1972)

Here's another group of Artists Who Hit #1 With Their Debut Single*.  We resolved that the reason there are so many newcomers to hit #1 is because they spent their whole lifetimes coming up with the best song they could ever record.  The odds of doing this are still astronomical, but it's a surprising percentage of the total #1's in the Rock Era.  In this section, we cover the years 1968 through 1972:
