Full Steam Ahead!

We hope The Top Love Songs of the Rock Era* spiced up your romance, and with its conclusion, we are plowing ahead with the major music special, The Top 500 Songs of the Rock Era*.  It is our signature special, and is timed to coincide with the 60th birthday of the Rock Era.
We guarantee it will be one of the greatest musical experiences of your life, but not because of anything we do.  It's all about the music, and you will hear, in succession, one great song after another.  This special has been presented many times on radio, but as the Rock Era has aged, the quality keeps getting better, and it becomes tougher for a song to make the elite list.  This only improves The Top 500*, and since radio has fragmented itself into shreds, you don't get to hear great music like this anymore.
You either hear all oldies all the time, rap or hip-hop all the time, or country music all the time.  Gone are the great days when you just heard the best music period, no matter the genre.  But when we present The Top 500 Songs of the Rock Era*, if a song is good enough to make it, you will hear it.  It's a fascinating comparison--between Elvis Presley and Usher, between surfing music and hip-hop, between Dusty Springfield and Alicia Keys.
Such comparisons are usually subjective, but what makes a credible comparison possible is what we call the competition factor.  By comparing each song against a common benchmark, we can then compare songs against each other.  Competition is the defining factor across years and decades.  Obviously, the tougher the competition, the harder it is to get to #1.  If few records are selling, as is the case today, reaching #1 is a whole lot easier than a time period in which several great songs (each of which sold in the millions) battled for the #1 spot.
The competition factor makes it possible to compare songs across decades fairly accurately.  And it is what makes all of our music specials, but especially this one, less subjective than most.  If you love music, as we do, we believe you will love The Top 500 Songs of the Rock Era*.
And this great special kicks off April 1 on Inside The Rock Era.  Join us then!
