Prelude to The Top 500 Songs of the Rock Era*: "Green River", from CCR

Our special Prelude* continues with this great song from CCR.  There is a Green River in Wyoming, which is the main tributary of the Colorado River, but that isn't the river that John Fogerty wrote about.  In fact, the body of water he thought of as the green river was actually called Putah Creek, located near Winters, California.

"Green River" became one of CCR's biggest hits in 1969...
