Prelude to The Top 500 Songs of the Rock Era*: "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot

We want to point out that the difference between songs included in The Top 500* and these songs in our Prelude* isn't much.  The order can change in almost a day, as new sales and airplay figures are posted.  In many cases, another million or two sales for these songs would be the impetus required to reach The Top 500 for the Rock Era*.

This is one of Gordon Lightfoot's best career songs--he came up with a gem in 1976 with "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald". It is his tribute to the 29 men who died on November 10, 1975 in Lake Superior, told in a style only Gordon could do...
